Thanks to you, I have found her list of free development tools that she has gathered over the years. There are links to so many useful tools on her page. I knew of many of them, but most are new to me. I can't wait to explore all of them. I had no idea there were such a large number of free tools for 3D modeling, animation, iconography, image editors, augmented reality, virtual reality, and video captures! These will help me save time with the online portfolio I'm working on.

I will check out the licensing restrictions for all of the assets, but do you know of any licensing rules of thumb for using free assets from the web?Mary Bentsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06926743225243548495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10660771.post-42567094942056122962019-05-21T16:49:55.690-04:002019-05-21T16:49:55.690-04:00Referring to your own blog is not necessarily bein...Referring to your own blog is not necessarily being a blogoportunist. The concept of flipping the question (Why are these kids malnourished versus why aren't these kids malnourished) reminds me of a video I saw recently about health and something I strongly agree with - the concept of improving health in society is not about creating better drugs or improving health care, but about educating society to live healthier lives so the illness is prevented. I.e. we should be focusing on wellness rather than care.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17901743105572054190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10660771.post-43958441535399418362016-06-06T14:02:54.756-04:002016-06-06T14:02:54.756-04:00I love the white board idea. I've recently asked everyone to post on our meeting OneNote (think 'wiki') answers to "What I'm working on (top 1-3 priorities)" and "Something I learned recently." You've given me the nudge I need here to start asking the question in a general post on our ESN once a week - Friday seems to be a good day to ask people the question "What did you learn this week?". Sometimes when I am lecturing I wonder if the students are bored during certain sections because I am bored listening to myself. At those points I engage with the audience to pull them back into learning mode. I have also used less busy slides because the abundance of information resulted in the students not reading the book assuming I provided all the information on the slide or they were to busy ready the slide and not paying attention to the lecture.

IDStudent FeliciaStrong Foundationshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08392474582634896930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10660771.post-60463575036232575532015-07-17T06:22:35.940-04:002015-07-17T06:22:35.940-04:00Great article Jane! Those who have problems with moving – don’t have to move, those with hearing/ vision troubles as well don’t have to worry on the condition the course is available for everyone. It’s also the matter of equality as everyone has the same right to participate in eLearning. What amazes me about any attempt to define 'best practice' is that there seems to be an almost deliberate move to keep it open and as vague as possible so that it can be used in the context of whatever happens to be the flavour of the month. Frankly, I'd be happier to use the term 'the flavour of the month'. At least it would be honest.

Best wishes from Middle-earthBlogger In Middle-earthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08722634477041121797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10660771.post-78414932404796516962015-04-20T21:27:27.394-04:002015-04-20T21:27:27.394-04:00Everything in design sends a subliminal message to...Everything in design sends a subliminal message to the viewer. Perhaps it is due to the fact that the terminology has be corrupted by popular use.
Here is a link about best practices. https://confluence.cornell.edu/display/qm/Quality+Management
My point is a best practice creates results that can be reproduced by others who follow the same practice. In the field of instructional design, ADDIE is a best practice because it produces good training.
Using Learning Styles to design training is not a best practice because it does NOT produce good training and is therefore bogus.
Joe Kirby
Joe Kirbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10299805966318486938noreply@blogger.com
